QR Code Menu for Your Restaurant or Cafe
ยท 3 min read
A QR code on the table that opens your menu saves printing, lets you change a price in a minute and keeps the menu readable on any phone. Here is how to set one up so guests actually use it.
What guests should see
A good QR menu is a fast, simple page, not a PDF that needs pinching and zooming. It should show:
- sections such as Starters, Mains and Drinks
- the item name, a short description and the price
- a clear veg or non-veg mark on every dish
- your cafe name, opening hours and a phone number
You can build all of this in the QR code menu maker by typing your items once. Prices and descriptions are laid out for you.
Set it up
- Type your sections and items.
- Mark each item as veg or non-veg.
- Choose colours that match your signboard.
- Create the code, download it and print it for your tables.
Because the menu lives on a page, the printed code never has to change when your dishes do.
Editing your menu
Dynamic codes on QRzify can be edited for 7 days after you create them, which is the time most owners need to fix a typo or a price after a first week of real use. After that the menu is fixed, so make a new code for a new season's menu and print fresh table cards. You can still rename the code, change its design, and pause or resume it at any time.
Where to place it
- On every table, on a small stand, acrylic block or sticker. Do not rely on a single code at the door.
- At the counter for takeaway orders.
- On delivery packaging, with a link to your menu and your order number.
Make it easy to scan
- Print the code at least 3 cm wide and use a dark code on a light background.
- Avoid gloss or reflective surfaces under bright lights.
- Add a line like "Scan for our menu" so no one has to guess.
- Offer a small printed menu for guests who do not want to scan.
Count the scans
A dynamic code shows how many people scanned it and on which days. That tells you whether guests are using the code and which tables are busiest. For more about reading those numbers, see track QR code scans in GA4.
